Overview

Oman Airports is a government-owned company that manages and operates the civil airports in the Sultanate of Oman and provides integrated airport operations and infrastructure management, such as on-ground services, terminal buildings, cargo buildings, runways, aprons, car parking and other facilities. Gensol’s has been engaged by this esteemed organisation for the preparation of an RFP document, seeking qualified consulting services for commissioning a feasibility study for the installation of Solar PV projects at Muscat, Salalah, Sohar & Duqm airports in Oman.

 

Detailed Description

OAMC is the sole organisation responsible for managing the airport assets, facilities, infrastructure, projects and maintenance plans while ensuring the operational readiness of new airports to support the smooth opening of new airports and efficiency of key operational processes. Swelling electricity tariffs have inspired OAMC to operate these airports most economically through alternate eco-friendly sources of energy, thus, making solar their first choice.

While according high priority to this assignment, Gensol deputed a team of qualified and diligent engineers in Sultanate of Oman to study the actual load details & land/roof details of the airport premises. With the help of unflagging support from the OAMC team, Gensol was able to submit a meaningful feasibility analysis, which instilled OMAC’s confidence in this project, thus tarring road for its smooth execution. Following the detailed study, Gensol also assisted Oman Airports with the preparation of key documents preparatory to the implementation of the project, such as technical specifications, tender documents, the financial viability of the project and engineering drawings, among others.
